Mamiki Ramaphakela - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mamiki Ramaphakela initially joined NCRC as a Provincial Manager for Gauteng NCRC in 2000. Due to the unforeseen collapse of the NCRC – GCRC was subsequently established in 2003. Ms Ramaphakela has been very instrumental in building GCRC as an organization to its present status since its independence from the now defunct NCRC.
Mamiki holds qualifications in Social Work Honors degree, Masters Degree in Social Work, specializing in Social Development and Policy as well as a Public Relations and Marketing Gold diploma. She has been a Social Work Practitioner since 1984. Her areas of interest and expertise are children’s rights and welfare in general as well as women’s socio – economic development. Her other work experience extends at both the provincial and local governments and private business..
In her professional practice, she has assumed numerous leadership roles including amongst others initiatives for community based projects and chairperson of different community projects and structures. She has represented South Africa as a delegate, presenter and chairing sessions at international conferences..
She also specializes in strategic leadership, training and mentorship, projects development and management, projects monitoring and evaluation as well as research..
Dr Mochabo Moerane – BOARD CHAIRPERSON
Dr Mochabo Moerane holds qualifications in B A. (Social Work & Sociology) (Wits University) (1989), B Soc. Sci. Honours. (Social Work) (Rhodes University) (1990), Masters Diploma (HRM) (RAU) (1994), BA Honours (Industrial Psychology) (UNISA) (1997), MA (Industrial&Organisational Psychology) (UNISA) (2006),Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law (UJ) (2011) and PhD (Consulting psychology) (UNISA)(2018).
He is currently the senior lecturer and chair of the department: human resources management at UNISA. His other work interest, experience and expertise are in the fields of Executive Coaching/Mentoring, Psychosocial Assessments, HR Consulting, Change Management, Performance Management and Psychometric Assessments.
Mochabo’s previous work experience and consulting work of more than 27 years in the broader spectrum of people management include amongst others, formulation and regulation of HR ethics, coaching, counselling, conflict resolution, organisational development interventions, employee wellbeing, employee/labour relations and psychometric assessments. His main clients included leading corporate companies such as Nedbank, Saambou bank, Capital Alliance, Momentum, Absa, Land Bank, ICAS, LifeAssist, Landbank, City of Joburg Municipality, Timrite,Imerys Refractory Minerals of South Africa, Standard bank and Transnet.
He served on the Remuneration and Human Resources committee of the Independent Council Authority of South Africa (ICASA) Board. He is currently a member of the South African Board for People Practice (SABPP) serving as chairperson of the Professional Registration and Evaluation Committee.
Joyce Maeli – BOARD DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON
Ms Joyce Maeli is a Social Work practitioner with MA Social Science (Community Development) qualifications.
She possesses extensive social work practice experience with special interests and expertise in the areas of Managing integrated Development for Service Delivery, Trauma counselling as well as Capacity building for Social Workers to assist clients within the command centre.
She has held various positions in her work history including a Director position at the defunct Thokoza Black Local Authority, Assistant Director at the Alberton Town Council, Regional Manager – Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
She is currently a supervisor at the VEP Gender Based Violence Command Centre (GBVCC) – National Department of Social Development.
Thoko Nhlapo – BOARD SECRETARY
Ms Thoko Nhlapo is an educator by profession. She holds the following academic qualifications:
1. Masters degree in Education( Life and Career Orientation)
2. Bachelor of Education (Honours)
3. Diploma in guidance
4. BA in Education
5. Certificate in Project Management
In addition to being an educator, she is also accredited as a training assessor with the SETA. In her illustrious career as an educator, she has also provided support for the Telkom Upliftment Project. She has recently retired from classroom teaching as she is pursuing private business in training.
Ms Nhlapo is very passionate about the wellbeing of children, hence she specialised in life and career orientation in her studies and teaching. Her Master’s degree research topic was based on emotional experiences suffered by LO teachers when dealing with social problems faced by learners, especially those who come from disadvantaged families.
Sophia Sithole – BOARD DEPUTY SECRETARY
Ms Sithole is a qualified professional nurse, registered with the South African Nursing Council. Her professional expertises are in the field of General Nursing, Psychiatry, Community nursing and Midwifery.
She obtained her Diploma in Professional Nurse (General, Psychiatric and Community) and Midwifery at the Limpopo College of Nursing, Polokwane in 1990. She also underwent training in teaching the community methods of preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS, Mentor /Facilitator, Causes and management of Headaches, Respiratory Illnesses, Blood Pressure and Kinesiology.
Her other work experience includes business administration and management as well as Sales Marketing.
She also serves as a board member for Catholic Church branch Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and some of her volunteering activities include being a Lay counsellor in the township communities specializing in HIV/AIDS and children’s rights.
Motlalepule Nathane – Taulela – TREASURER
Motlalepule Nathane – Taulela is a qualified Social Worker by profession with a Masters degree in Social Work. She is currently studying towards her PhD.
She possesses extensive social work experience in the field of community work education, counselling, developing training manuals as well as facilitation of training.
She is presently a lecturer at the department of Social Work – Wits University. Her responsibilities include coordinating 3rd year theory course and Masters in Social Development select topic. She also teaches undergraduate students.
Motlalepule is an independent trustee and a board member for Dikuno Tsa Sechaba Development Trust – Anglo Platinum. She is also a consultant for numerous entities on social issues. She serves on a number of university committees and has participated in numerous research projects nationally and internationally.
Ravi Saman – BOARD MEMBER
Ravi Saman holds the following qualifications, Bsc – Electrical Engineering (UND), MBA (GIBS) and MSc in Finance (University of London).
Ravi is the Managing Director of RM Saman & Associates (Pty) Ltd which was started in 2014 and provides professional services.The company is based in Johannesburg but has executed work throughout South Africa.
Ravi is an Engineer with extensive complex software/hardware program and project management experience. This skill is based across the following sectors, Oil & Gas, Paper, Water & Waste Water, Surveillance & Security, Energy, Food & Beverage, Mining and Financial Services.
Ravi has managed large projects with diverse teams and was responsible and accountable for the profit and loss on the projects. In some instances the teams comprised of individuals from India, UK, USA, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon.
He has successfully delivered projects in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Cameroon, Chad, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe and South Africa. His strong commercial and technical skill has been the foundation of his project successes.
JOB MOSHOESHOE – BOARD MEMBER
Job Moshoeshoe is a retired school Principal from Palmridge Secondary school – a position he held for two years. Prior to this position he serves in numerous positions as an educator namely deputy principal, head of department as well as an educator.
He holds a BA ED Honours degree in Education management as well as a degree in Communication and Psychology from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal.
